Brushwood fencing and screening is ideal for small spaces, helping to create an openness that only the soft natural shapes of the Australian bush can add. Visually appealing brush fencing is ideal for use in townhouse developments and terrace houses and immediately adds a feeling of space by removing the stark defined boundaries that paling or brick fences create.
Brushwood can be used for fences, feature walls, screens and gazebo and pergola roofs. Hand packed brushwood fences can be made to any size and shape, and can be fixed to most surfaces.
Specific Melaleuca species are harvested and used in the construction of brushwood fencing, these species have the ability to coppice (resprout from a lignotuber) after harvesting, ensuring a renewable and sustainable resource.
Brushwood fencing is installed on a solid galvanised steel frame that will last up to 40 years, making this fencing very strong and suitable for high wind areas. Brushwood fencing is ideal for difficult shapes and areas and can be installed level, stepped, raked or curved to suit any landscape. It can also be used for screens up to any height!
Brushwood is sold by the 25kg bundle. 2 bundles are required per metre of fencing at 1.8m high. Brushwood fences are constructed by weaving sticks up and down through the frame. The top and bottom is trimmed and the capping rolled on. A well built brushwood fence has no holes, no stick ends showing and a small neat rolled capping.
Brushwood is extremely durable due to its high salt content and will not rot or discolour for up to 20 years in the Australian climate. It also provides a natural protection against insects, ants and spiders!
Brushwood fences are constructed between 65mm and 90mm thick providing an
effective barrier against reflected noise.
